Lagos environmental sanitation corps links waste to Dowen College

The move came after Wahab posted a video on Tuesday showing LAGESC officials apprehending an unidentified man for allegedly breaching waste disposal laws. In the footage, the man admitted to being affiliated with Dowen College, prompting authorities to trace the environmental offence back to the school.

“This waste was traced to Dowen College in Lekki Phase 1. Such disregard for environmental laws is unacceptable,” Wahab stated.

He further directed the Corps Marshal of LAGESC to seal the school premises, stressing the government’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations.

“We will not hesitate to take firm action against any institution or organisation that violates our waste management regulations. Lagos must remain clean, safe and healthy for all residents, and enforcement will continue without compromise,” Wahab reiterated.

The sealing of Dowen College underscores the Lagos State Government’s ongoing efforts to enforce environmental laws and maintain public hygiene across the metropolis. Officials have warned that similar actions will be taken against any organisation found to be in breach of waste disposal regulations.
