Tinubu to Hold 2nd FEC Meeting of His Administration

FCT, Abuja - President Bola Tinubu has been said to be preparing to preside over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, October 15, the second of its kind since the resumption of his administration.

Tinubu took over from the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, and the new ministers were sworn in on August 21 at the Conference Centre in the state house in Abuja, Vanguard reported.

What is Federal Executive Council

The FEC is the decision-making body of the government, which comprises the President and the Vice President, who presides over the council meeting in the absence of the President and the Ministers.

Others who attend cabinet meetings are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the National Security Adviser, NSA, the Chief of Staff to the President, as well as any other relevant government officials that may be invited to present papers.

How many FEC meeting Tinubu has presided over?

The maiden FEC was held on August 28 at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja, by noon.

Although the FEC meeting was held on Wednesdays under previous administrations, it appears that the President is changing the Wednesday cabinet to Monday.

Vice President Shettima to represent Tinubu in Beijing

Legit.ng earlier reported that Vice President Kashim Shettima will be leaving Nigeria to represent President Bola Tinubu in Beijing, China.

Shettima will be deliberating alongside 130 other world leaders at the 3rd Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Forum.

At the forum, the vice president will be meeting other investment leaders across the world to discuss Nigeria's economy in line with President Tinubu's economic policy.
