Governor Umahi Finally Speaks on Defection from APC Back to PDP

Abakiliki, Ebonyi state - Governor David Umahiof Ebonyi state said he has no plan to return to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Umahi's media aide, Francis Nwaze, said the governor made this known during a special thanksgiving service held at the state’s new chapel in Abakiliki on Sunday, December 12.

Legit.ng notes that there have been speculations in the state that the governor who joined the APC in November 2020 may be considering a return to the PDP.
However, Nwaze said Governor Umahi trashed the rumors that he is planning to return to the PDP, saying he is satisfied with the peace he is enjoying in the ruling APC.

The Ebonyi state governor was quoted to have said:
"They said I want to return to PDP, with all these achievements? that man that does not even have a road to his house, I say may God not forgive him.
"I say thank you to the opposition in Ebonyi State, opposition in Ebonyi State is about bitterness and that is not how it is supposed to be."
APC reacts to reports on Governor Umahi's purported plan to rejoin PDP
In a similar development, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, December 2, debunked reports that Governor Umahi is currently aligning with politicians of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rejoin the party.
Simbad Ogbuatu, the APC spokesperson in Ebonyi state, said such a report about Governor Umahi is not only fake but laughable.
According to Ogbuatu, Governor Umahi had at no time mentioned plans to return to the opposition party, PDP. He said Umahi's defection to APC was not his selfish interest but for his hope to ensure the upliftment of the people.
