PDP Chieftain Kicks As Orji Uzor Kalu Hosts Party’s National Exco
- A former governor of Abia state, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has been accused of planning to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
- Kalu, who governed Abia state from 1999 to 2007 under the platform of the PDP has been hosting some of the opposition party leaders in his Abuja home

Umuahia - Dr. Isaac Nkole, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain from Abia state has cautioned the party against re-admitting the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu into its fold.
Nkole made the comment in reaction to the recent visit of PDP national officials to the Abuja home of Kalu.

The Punch newspaper quoted Nkole as saying:
“Kalu is in a desperate move to return to the PDP having discovered that his days in the All Progressives Congress, are numbered.”

He, however, said Senator Kalu’s return to PDP is not in the best interest of the party.
Kalu confirms the visit of PDP leaders to his Abuja home
Kalu had earlier posted photos of him posing with the PDP delegation on his official Facebook page.
He wrote:
“Received and held a luncheon with leaders of the opposition party- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by the National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu at my residence this afternoon.”
Anyim Pius Anyim visits Orji Uzor Kalu in Abuja
Recall that Senator Kalu had on Wednesday evening, December 1, hosted a presidential aspirant on the platform of the PDP, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, in his Abuja residence.
The Senate chief whip and former Abia state governor made this known in a Facebook post sighted by Legit.ng.
According to Senator Kalu who is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he and Anyim, a former Senate president and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, discussed issues concerning the southeast region and Nigeria at large.
Why I may contest 2023 presidency - Senator Kalu
Senator Kalu had earlier expressed his willingness to contest the 2023 presidential election only if Nigerians canvassed for his candidature.
The Abia South senator, however, said his ambition, for now, is to return to the Senate in 2023.
Kalu stated this during an interactive session with journalists after receiving the traditional title of Kibiya of Argungu Emirate from the Emir, Alhaji Mohammed Mera.
