Anambra Governorship Election: MASSOB Urges Andy Uba to Accept Soludo’s Victory

  • MASSOB has advised those who contested and lost in the just-concluded Anambra governorship election to accept the outcome
  • While PDP's Valentine Ozigbo who came second has accepted the result, Andy Uba of APC who came third insists he won the contest
  • The group alerted the APC candidate and his likes that they are about to be fleeced by their lawyers

Enugu - The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Tuesday, November 16 advised those who contested and lost in the just-concluded Anambra governorship election to accept the outcome and support the winner.

It warned those considering litigation to think twice, noting that their lawyers would always give them hope of winning through court because of their personal interest.

The pro-Biafra group, gave the advice in a statement issued by its spokesman, Edeson Samuel.

Part of the statement published by The Punch newspaper read:

“MASSOB wishes to advise other contestants that lost in the Anambra state governorship election to think twice before approaching courts.
“They should know that their lawyers will always give them hope of winning through the court because of their personal interest.”

Meanwhile, Prince Sunny-Neville Uchendu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has described the outcome of the Anambra election as a victory for the people of the southeast.

He said in an interview with The Nation newspaper:

“My happiness on the victory of Professor Soludo is not only for the Anambra people, but the victory is for the entire people of the southeast whose hearts are presently bleeding on a lot of abnormalities taking place in the geo-political zone.”

APGA Group Says Last-Minute Defectors Deceived Andy Uba

Meanwhile, a group within Anambra APGA on Sunday, November 14 declared that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded election in the state, Senator Andy Uba, was duped by defectors.

The national coordinator of the group, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, stated this at a press conference in Awka, the Anambra state capital.

He said Senator Uba’s decision to challenge the outcome of the poll in court would compound his woes.

Soludo’s Victory Will Inspire APGA to Take Over Southeast in 2023 - Party Chieftain

In a related development, the chairman of APGA in Abia state, Augustine Ehiemere, has declared that with the victory of Soludo at the Anambra governorship election, the party is now set to claim more states in the southeast come 2023.

Professor Soludo, a former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, won the election on the platform of APGA.

Speaking during a press conference in Umuahia, the Abia capital, Ehiemere gave quit notice to all other parties in the southeast.
