According to a post made available on her page, @nikyscent21, via TikTok, she documented her graduation moment in honour of her late mother.

Her Tiktok video was captioned:

“Mummy, can you see me now?”

The words expressed her pain and hope that her mother was watching over her as she fulfilled her mother's wish, even in death.

“My mother is someone who is passionate about education and always wanted her children to graduate someday and unfortunately she was not here to witness it. It was a very emotional moment."

Even though her mother had passed, she said she strongly felt her presence during the occasion:

“My mother is always present even in death."

Looking back, she admitted that the act of honoring her mother brought her comfort:

“It makes me feel better because I was able to make her present even in death."

Offering words of encouragement to other young people who may have lost a parent or loved one, she was honest about the difficulty of the journey:

“I will say it not easy. But patient, prayers, know where you are coming from and what you want, be yourself. Always pray for the departed soul."

Graduate honours late father on sign-out day
