In a TikTok video by @chiomacf, the lady asked if her decision to end the relationship was valid.
She said:
I recently broke up with my boyfriend because he said if I want to get married to him, I will not use a phone or the internet. He said he’s going to get me a small torchlight phone and a new SIM card.”

That SIM card will have only his number and his family’s numbers—no going out, no friends. No social media, no job of my own. My love is meant to revolve around him. I should be obsessed with him, idolize him, and see him as my lord and personal savior.
“In the marriage, I’m not meant to do the things that make me happy; I get to do only the things that make him happy—because he paid my bride price and I’m his wife. I should just sit at home and be a good wife for him. I thought about the whole thing and felt like no, I can’t be this. That’s how I broke up with him.”
She captioned the video:
"Why i recently broke up with my boyfriend, Do you guys think i did the right thing?"

She said:
"A healthy relationship is built on trust, respect, and freedom not control. If someone starts demanding restrictions before marriage, it’s a red flag and should be pointed out.
"Asking a partner to cut off friends and technology is asking them to shrink their world. Marriage should expand your life, not cage it. Such demands usually comes from insecurity, mistrust, or a desire to dominate. Without trust, there can’t be a stable marriage and if she accepts now, it sets a precedent tomorrow it might be restrictions on her career, her dressing, or her family relationships.
"She actually made the right decision to leave. Marriage is supposed to be a partnership, not a prison. Better to walk away before marriage than to be trapped in a life of constant control and unhappiness."
