2. Armenia — biometric passport holders are exempt

3.Bosnia-Herzegovina — biometric passports issued since 15 October 2009

Tunisia and Serbia also carry the biometric passport exemption under Denmark's visa rules, though they appear separately in the source list under different footnote categories.

What a Biometric Passport Is

A biometric passport, also known as an e-passport, contains an embedded electronic chip that stores the holder's personal data and facial image, and in some cases fingerprints.

The chip makes the document harder to forge and speeds up border processing at automated gates.

For travellers from the nine countries listed above, holding a current biometric passport removes the need to apply for a Danish visa, saving both time and administrative costs before travel.

Citizens from countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa remain on Denmark's visa-required list without a biometric exemption, meaning they must apply through standard visa channels before entering the country.
