Man's comment on David Oyedepo's school trends

Legit.ng has compiled some reactions to the man's comment below:

@Wisdommude said:

"I resigned frm teaching, maths, physics and Basic tech, because my salary was 23k before deduction like late coming, why do you think there are lesser male teachers today? We, males, can't live on that kinda amount, I left to be carrying concrete to earn 5k daily, so did others."

@_jamesshalom said:

"Teachers are poorly compensated all over the country. Not to defend David Oyedepo but I am keen to know why you mentioned his name rather than the establishment. Again, this is not to defend him or any person who is underpaying staff."

"If a school students are paying 700k as fees no teacher in that school should earn nothing less than 200k per month."

@RealNaijaLife said:

"Imagine earning ₦25k after 5 years of teaching in a school that charges hundreds of thousands per term. That’s how depression starts. That’s why teachers turn bitter, why some drown in drugs, why mental health in Nigeria is in shambles. Poverty isn’t just lack of money, it’s a slow poison."

"My lecturer told us how much they paid lecturers at covenant university and the terms of their employment. Terrible!"

@Anibasa_Farouk said:

"I came across a tweet here on Twitter around 2023. The person said if you are paying 700k for your child school fees and the teachers are getting paid 70k, you are paying for service of 70k not 700k."

Analyst outlines sustainable teacher pay strategies

Education policy analyst and educator, Folaranmi Ajayi, has advised private schools to explore reforms that improve teacher welfare without necessarily overburdening parents.

He told Legit.ng:

“Private schools can improve teacher pay by adopting transparent salary scales tied to qualifications and experience, reallocating non-essential expenditures, and leveraging partnerships or endowments for staff welfare. Performance-based incentives, pooled health and housing schemes, and professional development opportunities can boost compensation without sharp tuition hikes, ensuring sustainability and teacher retention.”

In a related story, Legit.ng reported that a female pilot who graduated from Covenant University had expressed her excitement after flying Bishop David Oyedepo.
