Ikeja, Lagos State - The final tweet of Kola Onifoto, a prominent Nigerian travel enthusiast and documentary photographer who tragically died in a solo motorcycle accident in Lagos, has emerged.

In the post, Kola Onifoto, whose real name was Orowole Samuel Kolapo, quote-retweeted a video by the digital payment platform HitchPay, highlighting the organisation’s charity.

In what turned out to be his last tweet, the late biker saluted the digital payment platform's gesture.

He wrote on X on Saturday night, February 28:

As reported by Premium Times on Tuesday, March 3, Kola Onifoto was involved in a road accident on Sunday, March 1, during a solo motorcycle ride from Lagos State to Akure, Ondo State. He had reached Ondo and was reportedly on his way back to Lagos when the accident occurred.

The Cable also confirmed the sad news, noting that the social media personality was believed to be in his 30s.

A few hours before the fatal accident on Sunday morning, March 1, the internet personality posted on his Facebook page about his trip to Akure. At the time, he was in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

He wrote, sharing an accompanying video:

"Big shoutout to those who have ridden their bikes to every state in this country, to Africa and across the world, especially women.
"My eye see wheeen."

Legit.ng gathered that he had been involved in a collision on the outskirts of Lagos and was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Idi-Araba. He succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Monday, March 2.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a woman who reportedly called Kola Onifoto’s phone after learning of the fatal crash shared what a road safety official, who answered the call, told her.

She said she dialled his private line, and the official provided information regarding the accident.
