Ikeja, Lagos state - The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has released the latest Air Quality Index (AQI) reading for different parts of the state.

The General Manager, LASEPA, Dr Tunde Ajayi, shared this in a statement via his verified X handle @thetundeajayi.

According to the report, Eric Moore, Surulere recorded the highest AQI at 37, followed by General Hospital, Ikeja, at 22, and Bariga, Shomolu, at 20.

The Air Quality Index in these areas is categorized under the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” category.

It indicates potential risks for individuals with respiratory conditions, the elderly, and young children.

Victoria Island, on the other hand, recorded the cleanest air with an AQI of 9.

The high-brow part of Lagos falls into the “Good” category, followed by Moloney Street at 12 and the General Hospital, Gbagada, at 13.

The Air Quality Index for Monday, August 4, 2025, shows that NIMET, Oshodi, and Egbeda in Alimosho LGA recorded the cleanest air during that period.

LASEPA cracks down on noise pollution in Lagos

Recall that in a bold move to combat noise pollution and other environmental violations, LASEPA sealed off multiple establishments across Lagos State.

The targeted locations include Ikeja, Mushin, Gbagada, and Maryland, where businesses were found guilty of violating environmental regulations despite several warnings.

LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on non-compliance, urging businesses to collaborate with the State government for a cleaner, more sustainable Lagos.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that LASEPA sealed nine establishments, including the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
