Just in: Gunmen Kidnap NPA's Ex-boss in Kano, Police React

  • A former general manager of the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), Bashir Abdullahi, is nowhere to be found
  • Abdullahi was abducted in the Sumaila local government area of Kano state on Wednesday, November 3
  • The former NPA boss was whisked away to an unknown destination while he was inspecting his farm on Wednesday

Sumaila, LGA - The abduction of Bashir Abdullahi, a former general manager of the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) has been confirmed by the police command in Kano.

AIT News reports that Abdullahi was kidnapped from his farm in the Sumaila local government area of the state on Wednesday, November 3.

So far, nothing has been heard from the kidnappers as to what they want as ransom from Abdullahi's family.

Meanwhile, a student of Bayero University, Kano named Sakina Bello had been kidnapped.

The 23-year-old student of Botany was reportedly kidnapped inside a commercial tricycle along Janbulo and Rijiyar Zaki area of the Kano metropolis on Tuesday, October 5.

It was gathered that the abductors of the student have contacted Sakina's family on Wednesday, October 6, demanding N100m ransom.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa of the Kano police command confirmed the incident saying they received a report of a missing person around 3pm on Tuesday.

According to him, the police started investigating the matter immediately with a view to tracing Sakina's whereabouts.

Bandits kidnap Buhari's appointee, granddaughter in Northern state

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Dr. Ibrahim Garba Musa, the permanent secretary in the Niger ministry of transportation, was on Friday, October 1, kidnapped alongside his granddaughter.
