The Pain Behind Their Smiles: Reactions As Family of Late Sylvester of Dowen College Mark His 12th Birthday

• The young boy died just a few days to his birthday after allegedly being a victim of school bullying
• His family honoured his memory by getting birthday cakes on behalf of the late Sylvester and singing a birthday song

On December 4, 2021, late Dowen College student, Sylvester Oromoni, would have clocked 12. However, the young boy died just a few days to the day after allegedly being a victim of bullying in school.

Sylvester’s family members were thrown into great mourning but they decided to honour the memory of their dead son by marking his birthday.

To eulogise him, birthday cakes were made for the late Sylvester alongside big picture frames.

One of the birthday cakes was made in the form of an airplane and a pilot’s cap and shirt. Late Sylvester’s father had earlier noted that his son had wanted to become a pilot.

The family also gathered to take photos with the cake as they sang a birthday song for the deceased.

Sylvester’s death greatly touched a number of Nigerians who are now clamoring for justice to be done on social media. They also reacted to the family’s show of strength in their time of pain.

Please come back - Sylvester’s only brother begs as he mourns

The late Sylvester died just a few days to his 12th birthday and his big brother, Great Oromoni, took to social media to pen down an emotional tribute.

In the touching note, Great noted that Sylvester was his only brother and he begged him to please come back.

Also in the emotional note, Great explained that he and Sylvester were always together and he really misses him. The bereaved added that he just really wants his brother back because without Sylvester there is no him.
