Nollywood stars united in prayer for beloved veteran actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo on Friday, August 21, 2026, as the industry rallied around one of its own in a time of serious illness.
Speaking at the gathering, actor Jide Kosoko conveyed gratitude to fans and well-wishers both in Nigeria and abroad who have shown an outpouring of love and prayers for his colleague.

"We are overwhelmed with the show of Love towards our brother Actor Hassan Ogogo," Kosoko said. "We can clearly see how the whole Nigerians both home and abroad have been praying for Ogogo."
First Lady and Senator Step In
Kosoko also disclosed that the support has extended beyond ordinary Nigerians to the very highest levels of government. He revealed that First Lady of the Federal Republic, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, personally reached out by call to register her concern for the ailing actor.
He also named Senator Olamilekan Yayi as a key pillar of support, revealing that the senator has been shouldering Ogogo's medical bills.
According to Kosoko, Yayi even made arrangements to fly the actor to India for specialist treatment, but doctors ruled that Ogogo was not in a fit condition to travel.
With the option of overseas treatment now off the table, Kosoko made clear that the industry's collective hope rests firmly on divine intervention.

Cleric speaks about visit to Ogogo
Legit.ng also reported that an Islamic cleric who had publicly committed to delivering herbal medicine to ailing Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo opened up about his visit to the actor.
He narrated his experience as well as his observations, triggering reactions online.
"Pls let's continue to put him in our prayers. There's nothing our God cannot do," he said.
