Nigerian lovers of Bollywood movies have taken to social media to react to the tragic incident at actor Vijay's rally in India.
The BBC reported that at least 40 people lost their lives in a crush at a rally held in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

According to the reports, tens of thousands of people gathered at the campaign event for Bollywood actor-turned-politician Vijay in the Karur district on Saturday, September 29.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin disclosed that the victims included nine children, at least 17 women, and 13 men. He added that 51 people were receiving treatment in hospital.

Reports revealed that Vijay was addressing the rally in Karur district when the crowd suddenly surged, forcing him to halt his speech.
Vijay reacts to crush at rally
The Bollywood actor, in a statement, disclosed that his heart was "broken" and that he was in "unbearable, indescribable pain and sorrow."
He also sent his "deepest sympathies and condolences" to the families of those who died, and prayers for a "speedy recovery" for those in the hospital.
Vijay is known for movies like Beast (2022) and The Greatest of All Time (2024).
