According to Pastor Blessed, when Mercy won Nigerian Idol in 2012, she had every opportunity to chase mainstream, secular fame.

The stage, the spotlight, and the opportunities were right there. Instead, she made a bold decision, choosing gospel music.

That decision, however, came with a cost. Pastor Blessed revealed that Mercy had to endure four years of waiting, during which her career seemed to stall.
