Another Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 contest is on the way as organisers of the beauty pageant unveil 22 finalists who will contest for this year’s crown.

The contestants from different states across Nigeria were revealed via the pageant’s social media page.

Whoever emerges winner in the 2025 edition will take over from the reigning queen, Chidimma Adetshina, and represent Nigeria at the global Miss Universe competition later this year.

Recall that Chidimma was invited by the Miss Universe organisers in 2024 after she had been forced to withdraw from the South African beauty pageant following a nationality row.

It was alleged that her mother might have stolen the identity of a South African woman.

She finally emerged as Miss Universe Nigeria and went on to represent the country in Mexico, where she was the first runner-up, taking the Miss Universe Africa crown.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Miss Universe Africa and Oceania Chidimma Adetshina revealed her decision to permanently step away from beauty pageants.

Adetshina, who emerged as the first runner-up to Denmark's Victoria Kjær Theilvig at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico, disclosed her desire to focus on her education.

During a press conference, Chidimma reaffirmed her decision, stating that she had done her best.
