FCT, Abuja - Popular socialite and entrepreneur, Obinna Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, spends the second night in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), according to The Punch.

Onwumelu Valentine (@instigator_ph), described as the businessman’s friend and colleague by The Cable, had earlier claimed via his Instagram page on Tuesday evening, November 2, that Obi Cubana had been released.

Obi Cubana also gave an impression that he had been released when a terse post surfaced on his Instagram page, saying he remains “unbroken.”

The post reads:

“Okpataozueora! I love you all! Unbroken #manoftheyear2021."

The Cable also reported that Obi Cubana was released on administrative bail.

The Nation also reported the alleged release of the Abuja-based socialite.

The anti-graft commission had on Monday, November 1, grilled the popular socialite for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

Obi Cubana spends second day with EFCC, passport seized

Contrary to the earlier reports, The Punch stated that the EFCC reportedly confiscated Obi Cubana's passport.

The newspaper stated that the seizure of his travel document was to prevent him from leaving the country while under investigation.

It added that its checks revealed that the anti-graft agency quizzed the Anambra-born social media influencer for the second day on Tuesday, November 2, at its Abuja, Jabi headquarters.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Obi Cubana and other socialites such as E-Money, KCEE, and others recently lit social media up with their celebratory videos as they sang and danced praises to God.

In clips shared on their different pages, the billionaire businessmen were all seen on a private jet eating, singing and dancing. The group of men sang only praise songs to God and appeared to be celebrating something big.

Taking to his social media page, Obi Cubana accompanied his video with a caption where he explained that it was pay day. According to him, it is how to behave when he wins with his brothers.

Obi Cubana gives success tips in video

In another report, Obi Cubana recently shared success tips with Nigerians aspiring to greatness. The billionaire businessman said in an interview that people who want to be successful should never stop working hard towards achieving such goal.

He said social media made it look like he became a successful man overnight, adding that his business has been in existence for 13 years.

According to Obi Cubana, the attributes people aspiring to greatness must have include patience, diligence, being hardworking and having integrity.
