A young Nigerian lady identified as Sarah Oladejo has taken to social media to celebrate her win after bagging a full-ride scholarship for her master's degree in computational biology at the University of Alabama, United States.
Taking to her LinkedIn page to make the disclosure, Oladejo who graduated from the Lagos State University (LASU) with a first class said she was selected for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship.

In her words:
"I was selected for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship for a Masters in Canada and a Graduate Assistantship as well as a Fellowship for my Master's degree in the United States of America. Allow me to introduce to you a Graduate Scholar and Fellow at the University of Alabama, USA going for a Master's degree in Computational Biology on a full-ride scholarship."
It didn't come easy
The achievement didn't come on a platter of gold for the young lady as she had to work relentlessly to ensure she was given the scholarship.
According to her, it was a voyage filled with sleepless nights of essay reviews, coding, strategic dismantling of the internet for information, days and nights of fasting and prayers.
She said:
"My affirmations in my article on Nature Pays Diligence are gradually manifesting. It is incontrovertible that a man diligent in his work will stand before kings and not mere men because truly, Nature Pays Diligence."
Her academic journey in LASU
Speaking with Legit.ng's Tunde Ososanya, the brilliant young lady said she was able to graduate with a first class in LASU because success in academic work comes natural for her. Apart from that, Sarah said she had a very good association in school, adding that she didn't have many friends.
In her words:
"We were all sharing knowledge basically and carrying each other along. So that also helped and I was able to shun every kind of distraction."
She said it was a very tough decision choosing United States over Canada when she got both scholarships but she had to weigh both options to decide which one defined her.
Sarah said after seeking God's direction and going into self discovery, she chose the United States. According to her, she prefers research and her course in the US is researched-based while the one in Canada is course-based.
Speaking about her social life, she said her own definition of social life is enjoying herself and doing what she loves doing.
In her words:
"My own definition of social life is cooking good food, listening to good music and chatting with friends."
Sarah advised people who are experiencing rejections in their scholarship applications not to give up but do a lot of self discovery, research and reach out to scholars for mentorship.
In her words:
"Anybody can actually get a scholarship, you just have to the right thing and follow the right part. I won't advise them to give up."

Oladejo expressed gratitude to Jesus who fulfilled his promise in her life. She also appreciated her parents, sisters and mentors for their contributions.

Female doctor bags 7 awards as she graduates with distinction
Legit.ng previously reported that a young Nigerian lady, Dr Ola Sandra Ndukwe, reaped the fruits of hard work as she graduated with distinction in internal medicine.
Taking to her Twitter page to celebrate her win, Dr Ndukwe who finished from Imo State University, Owerri, said she bagged seven awards including best in paediatrics, biochemistry, and physiology.
Expressing gratitude on the social media platform, she said it was impossible for her to contain her joy.
