Members of the group conveyed their agenda to the monarchs which is to ensure that an electable political leader from the southwest succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

According to Dayo Adeyeye, the chairman and a former senator from Ekiti state, members of SWAGA came together to actualise the agenda for Nigeria's next president to be from the southwest.

He stressed that all the qualities and experience needed to lead Nigeria is embodied in Tinubu.

Adeyeye also said there was an agreement among APC leaders during the 2015 election that at the end of Buhari’s eight-year tenure the presidential power will rotate to the south.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Tinubu has been given the nods to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari as his staunch supporters met in Ibadan, on Tuesday, December 15, to launch a presidential campaign movement tagged "The South-West Agenda (SWAGA)" for him.

Although he is yet to make an official declaration, Tinubu, an APC chieftain, is being rumoured to be eyeing the country's most respected stool should his party zone the presidency ticket to the south.
