Former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to be wary of those promoting a Tinubu presidency in 2023.

Bode George also advises former governor of Osun state, Chief Bisi Akande not to engage in a fruitless campaign of fulfilling Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's dream of governing Nigeria.

The PDP chieftain was reacting to the visit of some Tinubu's associates led by Chief Akande to President Buhari recently.

The visit was seen by many as an attempt to get the president's buy-in into Tinubu's presidential ambition.

George, a long-time rival of Tinubu, said the visit was unnecessary and out of desperation in a statement seen by Legit.ng.

His words:

“The very absence of Bola Tinubu from the jamboree screams to high heavens that the meeting itself is a covert placatory softening of the ground for Tinubu himself. I am pretty certain that in his very absence, Tinubu occupies the centrality of the discussion.
“I will advise Baba Akande who governed Osun state with principled, incorruptible leadership to kindly help us drop off Bola Tinubu at Iragbiji as he makes his way back to Ila-Orangun.”

Recall that a recent media report indicates that all is now well within the Lagos state chapter of the APC over the 2023 election.

As a sign of things to come, some APC chieftains are already declaring interest in the state governorship position as an affront on Tinubu.
