A statement issued on behalf of the party by Governor Obaseki's media aide, Crusoe Osagie, stated that "There is deliberate election manipulation in areas where the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki is popular."
Edo governorship election is currently ongoing in all the 18 local government areas in the state with voters trooping out to decide who will rule them for another four-year term.

Governor Obaeki, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is presently having a tough run with 13 other candidates including Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Osagie said there is a coordinated attempt to disenfranchise voters who are his principal's loyalists in his strongholds.
"Suddenly card readers are not working in areas where Governor Godwin Obaseki is very popular Voters are being disenfranchised and we are constrained to say that this is sabotage.
"Specifically, in Oredo Ward 1, Unit 20 and other places where the Governor is clearly popular, the card readers are not working.
"The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should prove to Edo voters that it can conduct a credible election in Edo State," Osagie added.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Nyesom Wike sent a crucial message to a teeming legion of the electorate in Edo, with the Rivers governor warning that voting APC into power will send the southsouth state to the dark era of godfatherism.
Wike, who is the chairman of the PDP national campaign council for the Edo election, stated that all ropes must be let loose in order to win the election for Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Speaking at a meeting organised for leaders and elected representatives of the PDP in Benin, the Edo state capital, Wike maintained that the battle will not be easy.
