Tragedy struck on Saturday, November 3, in Kogi when a campaign vehicle of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engineer Musa Wada, allegedly killed four persons.

The car, a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon, and supposed back-up vehicle for the governorship candidate, was said to have run into a business container in Idah, a major town in the state.

While the four inside the container died, the occupants of the campaign vehicle are said to be in critical conditions.

The Nigerian Tribune reports that Hilary Edime Amodu, chief administrator of Idah local government, confirmed the incident attributing it to recklessness on the part of the driver.

Speaking on the incident, Faruk Adejoh, publicity secretary Musa Wada/Aro campaign organisation, said it was only two people that died while another person is in critical condition.

“Yes there was an accident, a vehicle on the campaign trail vied off the road and ran onto a kiosk and killed two people while one other person is critically injured and receiving treatment in a hospital,” Adejoh said.
