Governor Umahi orders shooting of anyone who blocks his convoy

- The governor of Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi, discloses that his convoy was recently blocked by some persons who stole a rifle belonging to a security aide

- Umahi thus orders serious sanction for anyone who tries to block his convoy henceforth

- The governor also orders the arrest of all the people who took part in the blocking of his convoy

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state has reportedly ordered his security details to shoot anyone who attempts to block his convoy.

Premium Times reports that the governor issued the order at the weekend while narrating how his convoy was blocked recently by mourners at a wake-keep in the state.

It was learnt that the incident happened along Onicha road in Onicha local government area of the state on his way back to the Abakaliki from his Uburu, Ohaozara hometown Friday night.

The governor claimed that a rifle was lost in the incident.

“Yesterday night, I was coming back by 12 midnight. Of course, I had to stop over at the college to inspect projects, but when we got to Onicha, they blocked the road.

“Even with the litany of army and the police and everything, they did not even want to open the road. Then I said they should arrest all of them, but most of them ran away. I think they even took a gun of an army officer,” he said.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Governor Umahi recently said that some Nigerians have been sentenced to serve for 1,000 and some 500 years in Ghana prisons.
