Gov Bello thanks Buhari for appointing Kogi indigene as Head of Service

- Governor Yahaya Bello has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing a Kogi state indigene into a key position in government

- The president recently appointed Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan as the new acting Head of Service of the Federation

- Yemi-Esan, a former permanent secretary in the ministry of petroleum, is from Ijimu local government area of Kogi state

Governor Yahaya Bello has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan as the new acting Head of Service of the Federation.

The governor also congratulated Yemi-Esan who hails from Ijimu local government area of the state, describing her appointment as an appropriate fit.

The governor's congratulatory message was contained in a press statement sent to journalists on Thursday, September 19 by his chief press secretary, Onogwu Muhammed.

Governor Bello noted that the new Head of Service was a career civil servant renowned for her probity, work ethic and extensive experience in the civil service, qualities which the Kogi state helmsman said qualified her to occupy the position to which Mr President has appointed her.

Governor Bello further described the Yemi-Esan as a disciplined, courageous and diligent personality who he believed would carry out her duties without betraying the trust reposed in her.

The governor also applauded President Buhari for making the hiring decision so promptly and avoiding a lamentable void in the top echelons of the nation's public service.

The governor wished the new Head of Service well as she assumes office, charging her to remain poised and resolute in the discharge of the duties attaching to her new office.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has approved activities for the anniversary of Nigeria’s 59th Independence.

This was contained in the schedule of activities released by Willie Bassey, a spokesperson in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The activities would on Monday, September 23 kick-off with a media parley at the National Press Center in Abuja.
