Folasade Yemi-Esan: 7 things you should know about new head of service appointed by Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, September 18, appointed Folasade Yemi-Esan as the new acting head of service of the federation.

Yemi-Esan replaced Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita who has been directed to go on an indefinite leave to pave way for a clear conclusion of her probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Oyo-Ita is being probed by the anti-graft agency over alleged N3billion fraud in her Office.

Here are five key facts to know about Yemi-Esan, the new acting head of service of the federation.

Education

1. Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan obtained her first degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Ibadan in 1987

Career

2. She served as the Information Attach’e in the Nigeria Information Service Centre, Embassy of Nigeria, Abijdan, Cote d’ Ivoire from 1992 to 1995

3. Yemi-Esan later joined the Federal Ministry of Health where she rose in ranks to become a director

4. In 2012, she served as the permanent secretary, Service Policy and Strategy, in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, having risen to the position of Federal Permanent Secretary

6. Yemi-Esan has also served as permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Information

7. Before her latest appointment, she was the permanent secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources

Meanwhile, President Buhari has on Tuesday, September 17, approved the re-appointment of two assistants for the minister of information, culture and tourism, Lai Mohammed.

A statement by Joe Mutah, the chief press secretary to the minister said, the president approved the re-appointment of Segun Adeyemi and Williams Adeleye as special assistants (media) attached to the office of the minister.
