Kano Distribution Company
This company was formed in May 2012, it was a consortium of 5 other electricity companies in Kano state. Kano Electricity Distribution Company covers Jigawa, Kano, and Katsina. It’s one of the eleven major electricity distribution companies in Nigeria.
The geographical coverage of the company is 67,128 square kilometers. The combined population of three states is about twenty million citizens.
Yola Distribution Company
This company covers Taraba, Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states. It’s one of the main distributors of electricity in Nigeria. This company was formally privatized in 2013.
Jos Distribution Company
This company provides services to Benue, Gombe, Bauchi, and Plateau. It’s one of the major distributing companies in Nigeria.
Abuja Distribution Company
This company covers Niger, FCT, Nassarawa, and Kogi. It’s one of the major power distributors in Nigeria. It was privatized in November 2013. The Federal Government of Nigeria still holds about 40% of company assets. The total area of coverage is about 133,000 square kilometers.
Ibadan Distribution Company
This company covers Kwara, Oyo, Osun, and Ogun. The company was launched in November 2013 as a part of a plan for unbundling the energy sector of the country. The company organized five business hubs across Nigeria. The company also has a strong strategical partnership with Meralco Company, which is one of the largest distributors of energy on the Philippines.
Eko Distribution Company
It’s a small electricity company which covers Lagos, Ogun, and Agbara. For the ease of operations, the company is divided into three circles and ten districts.
Ikeja Distribution Company
The company began perations in November 2013. Ikeja Electric is one of the major distributors of power in Nigeria. It gives electricity to more than 700,000 customers.
Benin Distribution Company
This distribution company covers Delta, Edo, Ondo and Ekiti states. The coverage area of the company is about 55,770 square kilometers. The company provides its services from twenty-five business districts across the country. The coverage includes 13 million people and more than 4 million households.
Port Harcourt Distribution Company
This company covers Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa states. The vision of the company is to provide high-quality utility services for Nigerians. The company is committed to improving the quality of services for more than 14 million people!
Enugu Distribution Company
The company covers Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra and Imo states. It stands to be the pillar for providing excellent services of energy distribution in five states.
