Police in Bayelsa finally nab 33-year old drug lord Henry Samuel (photo)

- A drug baron in Bayelsa, Henry Samuel, has been arrested by the police

- Asinim Butswat, the spokesperson of the police command in the state said the arrest was carried out on Monday, April 23

- Butswat reported that Samuel will be arraigned when investigations on him is concluded

A suspected drug baron and a leader of an armed robbery gang identified as Henry Samuel, has been arrested by officials of the police command in Bayelsa state, the Punch reports.

Concerning the development, Asinim Butswat, the command's public relations officer, said: “On April 23, 2018, at about 0400 hours, following interrogation and confession of an armed robbery suspect, operatives of Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad, Yenagoa, stormed the residence of one Henry Samuel, ‘m’ 33 years, a kingpin of a notorious armed robbery gang, at Ovom, Yenagoa.

“Upon thorough search of his house, the operatives recovered the following items: one Browning pistol with three rounds of live ammunition, one locally-made revolver pistol with four rounds of live ammunition, one locally-made single barreled pistol with four live AAA and cartridges."

Butswat stated that efforts had been intensified to arrest other gang members, conclude investigation and arraign them.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Temona Alison, a suspected cult member and pipeline vandal, who was said to be on the wanted list of the police in Bayelsa state, had been arrested.

Legit.ng gathered that Alison, who is in his 20s, was apprehended by the Bayelsa state police command strike force on Sunday, March 4, in his house on Tombia-Ammassoma Road by Boxi water.
