The rescuers were heard in the video emotionally chanting the name of God (Allah) in Arabic as they carried away the bodies of the victims.

Why did the rescue mission take too long to reach the scene?

Although the cause of the crash that claimed the life of Raisi has not been established, the country has been experiencing heavy rains and foggy conditions, which investigators have pointed out as a potential cause of the tragic accident.

Who were the other passengers onboard?

Among them were the Governor of Eastern Azerbaijan province, Malek Rahmati, Tabriz's Imam Mohamed Ali Alehashem, the pilot, the copilot, the crew chief, the head of security, and the bodyguard.

The death of Raisi was confirmed on Monday, May 20, by his Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, after the rescue team reported that no one had survived.
