WWE legend Terry Gene Bollea, popularly known as Hulk Hogan, has been announced dead, aged 71.

The announcement came after emergency crews were called to his home to treat a cardiac arrest on Thursday morning.

Hulk Hogan was a cultural phenomenon who later transformed professional wrestling into a global spectacle.

From the 1980s to the early 2000s, he headlined iconic WrestleMania events, fueling the WWE’s (then WWF) rise to fame during wrestling’s golden era.

What happened to Hulk Hogan?

The demise of superstar Hulk Hogan has left the wrestling fans devastated due to his popularity and acceptance by the older generation.

According to TMZ, the 911 operator informed the paramedics that there was an emergency call from Hogan's house, which stated cardiac arrest.

Upon arrival, the paramedics spent close to 30 minutes performing CPR on the WWE icon before rushing him to the hospital around 10am.

Despite efforts to revive him, Hogan was pronounced dead at the hospital around 11:15am, with his family confirming the incident.

Hogan’s wife, Sky, whom he married in September 2023, had previously refuted claims of his declining health, insisting his heart remained strong despite recent surgeries.

Inside Hulk Hogan $11.5 million estate

Six-time WWE champion Hulk Hogan bought a house in 2012 for $3.3 million shortly after retiring from the World Wrestling Entertainment.

Four years later, the movie star acquired a property next door, which had a smaller apartment for $1.6 million, according to The Sun.

Hogan's first house consists of five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and water views on both sides.

His remodelled house spans nearly 5,500 square feet, including a wine cellar, and hurricane-resistant windows capable of withstanding winds up to 130 mph.

As of today, Hulk Hogan properties are worth $11.5 million according to Real Estate.

Trump mourns Hulk Hogan

President of the United States of America Donald Trump paid his last tribute to the former WWE legend Hulk Hogan.

According to wrestling, Trump described Hogan as a champion and warrior with a giant heart.

Trump said the two-time tag team champions supported him during his election period and gave electrifying speeches. He said:

"We have lost a great friend today, the 'Hulkster.' Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way- Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart.
"To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed."
