Osimhen spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Galatasaray after issues at Napoli. He scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions.
His performance and influence prompted Galatasaray to shell out the huge funds to sign him permanently, beating interest from Al-Hilal.
The striker has continued with his impressive performances, though his second season has been hampered by injuries; he has 22 goals and eight assists in 33 matches.
Kavukcu speaks on Osimhen’s transfer
Galatasaray’s vice president and sporting director Abdullah Kavukcu, who negotiated Osimhen’s transfer to Galatasaray from Napoli has opened up about how he completed the deal.
Kavukcu confirmed that there were other clubs that were interested in signing the striker and offered more money to Napoli and Osimhen, but he chose Galatasaray.
“We dreamed, and we made those dreams come true. Nobody in the world, not even people in Türkiye, believed we could sign Osimhen,” he told HT Spor via Haber Sari Kirmizi.
“There was a €90 million offer from another club. Osimhen said, 'Even if they offered €100 million, I wouldn't go; I'll come to Galatasaray.’,”
Osimhen’s salary at Galatasaray is €21 million net per season, €15 million guaranteed, and the remaining through image rights and loyalty bonus.
Galatasaray has devised different means to raise the funds to pay for the record-breaking deal in Turkish football despite the financial constraints.
As noted by Turkiye Today, the club will raise the price of its VIP boxes inside Rams Park next season to find his €15 million salary for next year.
The club launched a special merchandise labelled “Solo il Gala”, which means “Only Gala”, to commemorate the striker’s first words on his flight to Istanbul to sign permanently.
The box costs €220, and it contains a custom jersey, scarf, special notes and other merchandise items, aimed at raising funds for the striker’s transfer.
Kavukcu confirmed that the club has achieved significant success with the box and will continue to produce it as they target raising €22 million from its sale.

"Solo il Gala will continue. We expect to generate approximately 22 million euros from it,” he added.
“We also have three advertising deals with Victor. We receive 2 million euros each from them for advertising shoots. We collected 6 million euros from this. The Osimhen transfer has added a lot to us; we have reaped the rewards of our ambition.”
Kavukcu added that he is not open to selling the striker even for €150 million amid interest from Barcelona, Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
