Asisat Oshoala: Super Falcons Scores on Saudi Women’s League Debut for Al Hilal, Video

Asisat Oshoala scored a goal on her debut for Al Halil in their 4-3 win against Al Qadasiah in the opener of the 2025/26 Saudi Women's Premier League on Friday night, September 12.

The Nigerian international joined Al Hilal after a successful outing at the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where the Super Falcons won their 10th title.

The former Liverpool star scored Nigeria's first goal against Tunisia in their first match, setting the tone for coach Justine Madugu to make the country proud.

Oshoala announces her presence in Saudi Arabia

Super Falcons made a surprise move to Saudi Arabia after playing for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

According to Premium Times, the former Barcelona striker made an instant impact, scoring in the seven-goal thriller from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute against Al Qadasiah. Portuguese forward ensured the club won the game courtesy of her strike in the 74th minute.

Al Hilal had led the game with two goals before their opponent levelled up through Le Garrec and Adriana, per BSN Sports.

The inclusion of the six-time CAF Women's Player of the Year is to boost the team's chance of winning the league this season.

Oshoala has won the Nigeria Women's League, the Chinese League, FA Women's Cup UEFA Women's Champions League, and four WAFCON titles.

Al Hilal are currently second in the league with three points, as Al Ahli lead the league with a goal difference of three.

Oshoala can excel anywhere - Wambebe

Nigerian sports journalist Godwin Wambebe said Asisat Oshoala has proven once again that she remains one of the best women's players in Africa.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, Wambebe explained that the performance of the six-time CAF Player of the Year will open the doors to more Nigerian players in Saudi Arabia.

He equated Oshoala with Cristiano Ronaldo, whose presence shot the Saudi League to prominence. He said:

"Asisat Oshoala is a football legend, and she is marking her territory in the Saudi Women's Premier League. I believe she is going to succeed with the club.

Oshoala receives hero's welcome at Bay FC

Legit.ng earlier reported that National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Bay FC paid tribute to Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala following her role in Nigeria’s successful campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
