"We’re delighted that we’ve been able to complete this loan deal and secure Victor’s services. He has delivered brilliant performances in the Bundesliga, showcasing the qualities he possesses. We’re certain that he can build on those while here with us."

Head coach Horst Steffen added:

“Victor is incredibly strong physically, is a very good finisher and has good pace. He shone as both a goalscorer and a creator during Bayer’s title-winning season. I’m certain that he can be a huge asset to our group this campaign.”

It was a turbulent summer transfer window for the striker as several bids to lure him away from Leverkusen had collapsed.

The Akure-born striker was heavily linked with Italian giants AC Milan back in August, but the proposed deal fell apart after he reportedly failed medicals.
