Bayer Leverkusen Director Confirms Next Plan for Victor Boniface After Failed AC Milan Move

Bayer Leverkusen director has shared the club's plans for Victor Boniface after the striker's proposed loan move with option to buy to AC Milan collapsed.
Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan agreed on a loan move worth €5 million plus a possible permanent transfer fee of €24 million for the Nigerian striker.

Boniface flew to Milan to complete the formalities of the deal, but Milan called off the deal after discovering an issue with his knee during medicals.
According to Transfermarkt, the Super Eagles forward has suffered two anterior cruciate ligament injuries in his career during his time with Bodo Glimt.
It was the second time this year that the striker had seen a proposed move collapse after Al-Nassr opted out of signing him in January and signed Jhon Duran instead.
Leverkusen director speaks about Boniface
Boniface is expected to return to Germany after Milan confirmed that they had withdrawn from the deal following their doctor's advice after a lengthy check.
Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, has spoken about the deal and confirmed the next step for the striker.
“If Boniface comes back to Leverkusen, the AC Milan deal will be over. That's no big secret,” he told BILD.
“Renegotiating the deal? I don't think that will happen. His [Boniface] physical situation has improved compared to the beginning.”
Rolfes applauded how Boniface has handled matters around his future despite two disappointing situations in a year and confirmed that he will need physical therapy to be fully fit.
“Boni has now behaved sensibly. This is by no means a problem, but he has to go into physical recovery now so that he is at 100 per cent,” he added.

It is unclear what step the striker will take with only eight days left in the window and with other clubs expected to be careful after the incident at Milan.
New manager Erik ten Hag reportedly doesn't count on the former Royal Union Saint-Gilloise forward, so the possibility of leaving remains on the cards.
The striker has been the topic of discussion in the Nigerian media, with many criticising his off-field lifestyle even in the face of serious transfer issues.
A few others have extended support to him as he goes through a difficult moment in his career, despite appearing not to be bothered by the disappointment.
Boniface slams critics after failed move
Legit.ng reported that Boniface slammed his critics with a post on social media after his collapsed move to AC Milan became a topic of discussion on social media.
The striker hit back at claims that he is not serious. He believes if he plays for Bayer Leverkusen and attracts interest from AC Milan, he is doing something right.
