Portugal forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva have been laid to rest at a cemetery in their hometown of Gondomar, with their mother breaking down in tears at the sight.

The funeral took place in their hometown at the Gondomar church, near Porto, after they were involved in a car crash that occurred on the A-52 highway in Spain on Thursday, July 3.

Gandomar was flooded by football stars, including his Liverpool teammates, who were led to the scene by head coach Arne Slot and captain Virgil van Dijk on Saturday morning, July 3.

Manchester United duo of Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, who were Jota’s international teammates, were also in attendance, as well as Chelsea star Joao Felix, per Sky Sports.

According to Daily Mail, the Al-Hilal duo of Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo, who played in the 2-1 loss to Fluminense in the United States, flew into Portugal on a private jet to attend their friend's funeral.

President of FC Porto, Andre Villas-Boas also graced the funeral alongside top management staff of Jota's former team, per BBC.

In her first public appearance, Jota's widow, Rute Cardoso was spotted leaving the funeral home in tears after arriving with her husband's corpse from Spain.

According to Jaleos El Espanol, the funeral home was in the town where the couple met and began dating as teenagers, with the private wake held at a Catholic chapel 30 minutes away from where they married on June 22.

Jota is a free soul being- Karma President

Ghanaian prophet Karma President has shed more light on the unfortunate death of Liverpool star, Diogo Jota, and his brother.

In a viral video, the seer labelled the Portuguese forward as a 'free being soul'.

Karma President stressed that only highly spiritually inclined individuals can identify the true nature of a free soul being. He said:

"You forget say I tell you before say free soul beings go leave this world, dem no go cross 30, their highest. Free soul beings, their forehead henn, roman figure I, II, III; they have these sign on their forehead. Only the spirit can see and tell you, mortals cannot see."
