Former Nigerian international Odion Ighalo has showered praises on Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite that the tactician placed him on the bench for a better time of his spell at Old Trafford.

Ighalo scored five goals for the Red Devils in 23 appearances after spending a year on loan at the Premier League club.

In a recent chat with Sky Sports, Ighalo maintained that although he would have loved more game time at United, he is very well satisfied with the club manager.

He further explained that Solskjaer knows how to manage the team, adding that he never saw the manager get angry until he left for Al Shaba of Saudi Arabia.

The striker said:

“He knows how to manage the boys and talks to you, especially when you are not playing.
“He's a good guy, a calm guy, and I never saw him get angry - perhaps during a game when we were losing but the day after that it was totally forgotten because the next game was always more important than the last one.
“I have massive respect and time for him and thanks to him, I had the opportunity to play for Manchester United. Without him, that would not have been possible, so I am always grateful to him, no matter what.”

Ighalo’s comments are coming barely 48 hours after Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho blasted Solskjaer over statements concerning Heung-Min Son.

Mourinho was unhappy the manager who said Heung-Min Son had conned the referee to disallow United’s opener in their entertaining game on Sunday, April 11.

Cavani thought he had opened the scoring in the encounter, but a build-up to that strike had seen Son go down the turf, with VAR calling the attention of the referee and Sokskjaer said he would not have given the South Korean food if he was his child.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Ighalo was spotted with a pair of very expensive socks as he relaxes at an airport lobby.

The ex-international, in January, left Premier League giants Manchester United due to lack of active playing time, moving to the Saudi outfit on a permanent deal.

He signed a two and a half year deal with them with an option of him increasing the deal subsequently.
