The national leadership of Accord has urged residents of Osun State to vote for Governor Ademola Adeleke in the August 15, 2026 governorship election, saying his record in office justifies a second term and guarantees a landslide win.
In a press release dated August 3, 2026 and signed by National Chairman Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, the party said Adeleke's work on roads, social amenities, education, healthcare, security, and workers' welfare shows he has the political will to build a stronger state.

Accord makes the case for Adeleke
The party said Adeleke delivered on his promises despite what it described as deliberate efforts to destabilise his government, including the withholding of billions of naira in local government federal allocations.
Accord said it was a mark of Adeleke's political ability that he continued to govern effectively under those conditions.
"He has demonstrated his capacity to govern the state and propel it to a glorious future," the statement read.
Accord said the August 15 poll is an opportunity for voters to reward the governor's performance and send him back for a second term to complete ongoing people-centred projects.
INEC urged to conduct free and fair election
Beyond mobilising support for its candidate, Accord used the statement to warn INEC and security agencies to stay neutral before, during, and after the election. The party described the Osun governorship poll as a litmus test of INEC's readiness for the 2027 general elections, and said there was no room for excuses or technical failures.
"The commission should put its act together, adequately test-run its electoral materials to ensure they are in good condition," the statement said.
Accord also warned voters against accepting money or gifts in exchange for their votes, calling such conduct a threat to their own future. The party said no serious political party would engage in vote buying, and urged citizens to protect the integrity of the ballot box.
Accord party reacts to court ruling on move to deregister 4 political parities
Previously, Legit.ng reported that Nigeria's Court of Appeal on Monday, July 28, 2026, overturned a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that had ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to de-register Accord and four other political parties.
Accord's National Chairman, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, issued a press release welcoming the appellate court's decision, describing it as a victory for democracy, the rule of law, and due process.
