Amid plot to defeat Tinubu, El-Rufai mentions govt 'worse than any Nigerian military regime'

“In my view, it is a disgrace. This government is trying to centralise everything instead of devolving power to the lower levels. If we don’t come together and end this Tinubu administration by 2027, Tinubu will try to be our Paul Biya, a president for life. All the signs are there.”

Atiku praises El-Rufai and warns of dictatorship

El-Rufai further urged Atiku to rally Nigerians against Tinubu in 2027, praising his past role in fighting military rule.

“You are our leader, you have done this fight before. Even President Buhari, with his military background, never harassed political opponents. Yet today, civilians are acting worse than the military,” El-Rufai added.

Both leaders vowed to harmonise their efforts to “rescue Nigeria” ahead of the 2027 elections.

Reacting, APC’s National Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, rejected the allegations, insisting that Tinubu was fulfilling his constitutional mandate.

He also mocked Atiku’s repeated election losses, saying:

“Nigerians have lost count of the number of times Atiku has contested and lost. He didn’t win when he was strong. Is it now, when he is weak, that he will win?”

Ibrahim insisted Tinubu would defeat Atiku again in 2027, should he emerge as the opposition candidate.
