The ceremony, which also coincided with the 25th anniversary of the Conscience Forum, was attended by ADC leaders, ward and zonal representatives, and members from across the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.

Addressing the gathering, Aregbesola praised the leadership and members of the Conscience Forum while charging them to work with the ADC to seize power in Abuja and Lagos.

He said,

“I am happy to be a part of this gathering and to receive you into the ADC. With the resolve and structure of the Conscience Forum, Alausa is a sure ticket for all of us. With our resolve, it won’t be difficult at all to take over the seat of power.”

Operation “ten over ten”

Aregbesola outlined his party’s mobilisation strategy for 2027, stressing that grassroots strength would be key.

“It’s a simple strategy of one getting ten and each of the ten getting ten more. Once this is achieved, that’s the end of it. We will surely meet at Aso Rock Villa and produce the next president of the country,” he said.

Speaking on the defection, Salvador said that the Labour Party was no longer a party for the future due to its lingering internal crises.

He explained,

“Today we are marking the 25th anniversary of the Conscience Forum. Our members were in Labour Party, but the problems of the party have shown it is no more a party of the future. That is why we must look ahead and join a coalition that represents hope.”

Salvador added that the Conscience Forum, with over 400,000 members in Lagos, would fully integrate into the ADC’s structures at local government and ward levels, noting that the decision was part of their commitment to building a stronger political base.
