Nigerians react as Peter Obi resumes public engagements after medical rest, "They should tie this man down"
“Peter Obi, who told us he was sick, came out of retirement to politicise the recent killings in some parts of the country. He said the deaths upset him. But curiously, this same Peter Obi has not said anything about the conviction of Simon Ekpa by a Finnish court."
Omokri stated this via his X handle @renoomokri on Tuesday, September 8, 2025
He quoted the Finnish court to have saying Ekpa was directly responsible for many deaths through terrorism in the Southeast.
“If Peter Obi has recovered enough from his sickness to play politics, please can he tell us why the deaths in Borno bother him, but the massacre caused by Simon Ekpa in Igboland does not appear to concern him?
“That is Peter Obi's regular trademark. If it happens in Igboland, Obi will suddenly become deaf, dumb, and blind. But if it occurs in the North or Southwest, Peter Obi will dance naked in public like a madman.”
Nigerians react
@IsahMahe2
He chooses not to comment to condemned any evil happened in the southeast, rather he must condemn anything outside his region, Nigerians are aware of this.
@Almubarakbalo01
The southeast people are just too funny, I do not know if they enjoyed sitting at home on Monday while other states rank in millions, instead of the to call out Peter Obi to talk about the insecurity affecting them, they are busy focusing on Lagos while their state wallows away.
@ishodedayomi
Agbotikuyo himself. He will not say anything about the ugly incident that happened in the east.
@ajieh07
Over 100 people lost their lives in 2 days, including security men, and all you can talk about is Obi. You be really goat 🐐

@renoomokri His excellency @PeterObi’s selective outrage is no longer just disappointing—it’s dangerous.
When killings occur in Borno, Edo, or the Southwest, Obi swiftly dons the cloak of national conscience, issuing statements that tug at our moral sensibilities. But when the blood spills in his own backyard—when a Finnish court convicts Simon Ekpa for inciting terrorism that led to deaths across the Southeast—Obi retreats into silence. Not a word. Not a tweet. Not even a whisper of condemnation.
