The former Anambra state governor made this known via his X handle @PeterObi on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
“Let me begin by thanking everyone who wished me well during my short time away from engagements on the doctor’s advice.
“I resumed my many engagements yesterday, and I started by honouring a promise to visit an SME business owned by someone I met during the course of my activities, and I was truly delighted to listen to the owner.”
Obi had earlier on Saturday, September 6, said the doctor advised him to take a day or two to rest.
“Earlier in Enugu, I was not feeling well. I visited the hospital where the doctor gave me some medication and advised me to take a day or two days rest.
“In obedience to the doctor's advice, I will not be able to meet up with all my scheduled engagements within and outside the country this weekend.
“I sincerely apologise for any inconveniences this might cause and humbly plead for understanding.”

I know your spirit of seeing Nigeria reach its potential will never rest. You care so much for Nigerians that you can't stop engaging with them, even if it were on your doctor's recommendation. Peter Obi is always making me proud as an OBIdient. Bro, I didn’t back & support nonsense. Welcome back, sir. 🤝.
@OracleAyo
They should tie this man down to rest for one full week, abeg. We need you, healthy PO.
@MappingReveals
Before I could finish saying "F*ck - APC," you came back. Did you rest enough? What did the doctor prescribe? You need to show me that prescription; we must ensure that you stick to that care.
@tottibush
Only one full day of rest?? Maybe the doctor should’ve found a way to keep you in the hospital a bit longer, at least five days, to recover properly. 😃 But we’re really glad to see you back and doing well 🙏
@KenEhi7

If Peter Obi picks ADC Presidential Ticket
Recall that former governorship election candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Dr. Charles Ugomuoh, released a bold prediction about Peter Obi's participation in the 2027 elections.
Ugomuoh predicted that it would be challenging for the ruling APC if Peter Obi clinched the ADC presidential ticket.
Legit.ng reported that Obi recently joined forces with Atiku Abubakar and other politicians and adopted the ADC, a coalition aimed at unseating Tinubu in 2027.
Why Peter Obi promised to do one term
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Kenneth Okonkwo asserted that Peter Obi's promise to serve only one term if elected as president in 2027 is a calculated political move.
In a trending interview on Friday, Kenneth Okonkwo, a member of the opposition coalition party, the ADC, revealed that Obi made the promise to secure northern votes in 2027.
Okonkwo, a former chieftain of the Labour Party, explained how Atiku Abubakar introduced the idea of a one-term pledge and why Peter Obi now keyed into it.
