The Director General, City Boy Movement, Mr Oluwatosin Francis Shoga, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is repositioning the Nigeria economy to safeguard the future of young Nigerians.

Shoga stated this at the City Boy Movement Stakeholders Engagement held in Owerri, Imo state on Saturday, adding that Nigerians, youth especially needs to exercise patience to be able to enjoy the full benefit of the repositioning which are already been rolled out as Presidential initiatives in various ministries, agencies and parastatals of the government.

Speaking on the essence of the stakeholders engagement, Shoga notes with surprise, how pitiful it is to know that some young Nigerians are not aware of the various initiatives being rolled out to cushion the effect of the process of the ongoing economic reforms and repositioning which are all geared towards making Nigeria a better place for all.

Highlighting some of the President Tinubu led administration's initiatives to include; the President approval of the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund in which N60 billion has already been released from the Central Bank of Nigeria through the Agricultural Investment and Small and Medium Enterprises Scheme showed an unshakable faith in the ability of youth to drive economic growth.

The Student Loan Scheme has benefited over 500 students across various tertiary institutions across the country.

The President's approval of N50 billion to the Academic Union of Universities (ASUU) as earned allowance, thereby putting an end to the traditional incessant industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities

He further said that the President has equally released additional N50 billion each for the Student Loan and Credit Corporation, partly funded by proceeds from crimes recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

“ The Skill-Up Artisans Programme is changing lives. The Nigerian Youth Academy is building tomorrow's leaders, with the National Youth Talent Export Programme taking our skills to the world market.

“ I am saying this with all seriousness - this administration does not just talk about youth empowerment - President Tinubu is doing it," he said.

The DG urged nigerian youth, Imo youth, to take advantage of the various initiatives provided by the government, which has been handed o er through the MDAs and their state governments for personal growth and national growth.

He also enjoined the Imo Youth to join the Renewed Hope train and be part of the City Boy Movement, noting that the youth are the backbone and driving force of any successful nation.

The Imo State Director, City Boy Movement, Chief Goodluck Nwaneri, earlier in his remarks, praised President Tinubu for repositioning the country in an effort to make it a better place for all a sundry.

According to Chief Nwaneri, the president has come not only to save Nigeria but to carry all the youth of Nigeria along so that they can get a better future. He called on young people to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the federal government for youth empowerment.

" I can tell you that when all of us look into the government of Imo State and the government of Nigeria today, if we can tell ourselves the truth, when you come down and do your fact check, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration has done well to our society.
"He has been the president that has carried all the youth along. You can see massive youth empowerment going on in Nigeria," he said.

Also, the Councillor for Owerre Ebeiri ward, Orlu council area of Imo, Mr Magnus Okorie, thanked the President for his youth-friendly initiatives and called on state Governors to allow President’s good gestures trickle down to the grassroots.

A highlight of the event was the inauguration of the group’s State Working Committee in Imo.
