EXCLUSIVE: APC Chieftain Asks Bola Tinubu to Contest for Presidency in 2023

  • Supporters and political associates of the former Lagos state governor have been very vocal in selling Tinubu's candidacy

FCT, Abuja - Senator Ganiyu Olarenwaju Solomon has joined other associates of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ask the former Lagos state governor to join the 2023 presidential race.

Senator Solomon made his stance known while speaking to Legit.ng on the sidelines of a recent event hosted by the Tinubu Support Group in Abuja.

He said Tinubu's relationship with various individuals and groups across the country is enough for him to clinch the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket.

Speaking on the event, he said:

“We are happy that we are all witnessing what is happening right now. If you look at the calibre of people, and the number of people around here, it is indeed a sign that what we are working towards, will come to fruition by God's grace.”

Asked what stands Tinubu out from other potential APC aspirants ahead of the election, Senator Solomon said:

“First and foremost, every one of them is okay. But apart from that, he has shown himself to be the only candidate to beat. If you want to start enumerating his qualities, it is going to take the whole day.
“He has done very well including mentoring people and everybody has acknowledged this. We can go on and on. He is a role model to so many of us.

“Apart from this, he has done so very well for quite a number of people across the country, not only in Lagos state alone. That I believe stands him out.”

On his part, Ali Balogun Ibrahim, the national secretary of Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation, an organisation that has been around for over a decade, says Tinubu is a rare gem who loves Nigeria so much.

Ibrahim who is also the special assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on youth matters made the comment in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng in Abuja.

The APC chieftain was speaking on the 2023 presidential election and why he thinks the former governor of Lagos state, should join the race.

Tinubu continues to get key endorsements ahead of 2023

In a related development, the national chairman, Southwest Agenda for Tinubu (SWAGA) Senator Dayo Adeyeye has said that 16 APC governors are solidly supporting the presidential aspiration of Tinubu.

Adeyeye, a former minister of works, disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital on Thursday, October 21.
