He cautioned candidates against treating the new deadline as an opportunity to relax, warning that the date would arrive quickly and could lead to last minute rush.

According to the Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the decision was made to ensure that qualified individuals were not excluded from the exercise.

He stated that the extension formed part of measures to address the rising number of applications and to ease the burden on enrolment facilities.

To support the process, JAMB authorised five new registration venues to reduce crowding in locations that recorded heavy turnout.

The additional centres were situated in Ilorin, Ota, Ago-Iwoye, Oyo and Lagos.

The Lagos facility was scheduled to begin operations from April 30, 2026.

Existing sites continued to operate, including the Board’s offices nationwide, Professional Registration Centres and Professional Testing Centres.

The organisation said the steps aligned with its wider aim of creating more openings for entry into tertiary education.
