A Nigerian lady drew attention online after she revealed that her mobile line had been topped up without prior notice.
In her update, the MTN subscriber explained that she was caught off guard when she discovered she was part of a group of users receiving reimbursement from the telecommunications company.

Lady in compensated by MTN
Reports indicated that the network operator had begun reimbursing subscribers due to service shortcomings experienced within a defined timeframe.
The lady uploaded a screenshot of a notification sent to her device.
The message conveyed that her balance had been increased by a specific airtime value as redress for service quality problems that occurred in December 2025, and it ended by expressing gratitude for her patience.
It read:
"Dear customer, your account has been credited with N450 airtime for quality of service issues in December 2025. Thank you for your understanding."
The X user identified as @The_estar noted that the credit came as a complete surprise. She had reportedly not lodged an official complaint or applied for any form of refund before the airtime appeared.

The gesture led her to believe that MTN was proactively addressing disruptions that had affected customers during several months.
The development implied that the company had undertaken a review of network performance for that period and decided to compensate those affected.
Other subscribers had also begun posting similar notifications, indicating that the exercise was not limited to a single user.
