A Nigerian student took to social media to share her disappointment following the release of her results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
She explained that she had previously sat the examination in 2025 and secured an aggregate score that would have enabled her to gain admission.

Student laments over 2026 UTME score
However, she was unable to proceed to higher institution that year because she had not reached the required minimum age.
As a result, she opted to enrol in a one-year academic programme known as JUPEB.

During the course, the lady identified as @Blyss on TikTok said she was informed that participants were expected to register for the UTME again.
She welcomed the directive, believing it presented another opportunity to achieve a better outcome than she had gotten before.
In preparation, she devoted time to revision and worked through past examination papers to the extent she could.
She was assigned to a centre located at a school in Ikorodu and wrote the test on a Saturday in April.
Although she felt nervous on the day of the examination, she stated that she comported herself fully.
However, when the scores were published several hours later, she discovered that she had gotten a total lower than her previous attempt.
The outcome left her distressed because she felt she had invested effort into preparing.

She admitted that she was unsure how to inform her family, fearing that they would be let down by the result.
Despite her apprehension, she eventually told them what had happened.

She expressed gratitude that they refrained from reprimanding or raising their voices at her.
In her words:
"I wrote JAMB last year and got 218 but I couldn't enter uni because I was underaged so I decided to go for a program called jupeb and in the process of this one year program they said we were supposed to sit for jamb again I was happy because I had the chance to score higher my strength was biology so I studied past questions that I could cover I was posted at danbath school Ikorodu to write on Saturday 18th of april I was tensed but I gave it my best the results were released few hours ago and I checked I got 197. I was broken because I had put in a lot of efforts I didn't know how to tell my parents because of the fear of disappointing but I told them nonetheless and I just appreciate them for not cursing or shouting at me but dip down I know that they are hurt."

Commenting on the story, Francis, a Nigerian graduate of engineering, recounted how he wrote JAMB exam four times.
"I wrote JAMB for four times before I got admission in 2015. It is just her second sitting so she shouldn't feel too frustrated. Let her work harder. She will succeed. Failure is not denial," he said.

Man shares 'unimpressive' 2026 UTME result
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a young man shared his 2026 UTME score on TikTok after checking the result online.
He said he had been preparing for the JAMB examination since January 2026.
