She eventually landed her first job in the UK, bartending at a stadium after countless applications.

Roles as a kitchen porter followed, alongside days of self-doubt and uncertainty.

A serious decision caused the family to relocate to a new city, chasing a promise of sponsorship for her husband.

As time went by, they welcomed a second child, and life became a mix of work, school and immigration worries. However, they pushed forward, one step at a time.

When sponsorship promises fell through four months before their visa expired, they faced one of their toughest periods.

Emotional, mental and financial exhaustion loomed and ravaged them, but they refused to yield.

Their resilience finally paid off as the mother graduated with distinction and secured a placement in an international organisation.

They switched to a Post-Study Work visa and eventually found stability. The mother landed a job she loved, and her husband secured a sponsored role in his field after over 500 applications. They also bought their first home.

Their story read:

"It's exactly 4 years since we packed our lives into 9 boxes to the UK with an 8-month-old baby. Here's our journey so far. We were excited, scared and trusting God to lead us. I started school almost immediately. Finally got my first job in the UK after two months of endless applications and it was bartending at a stadium. At some point, I also worked as a kitchen porter. There were days I questioned everything. Then we made a big decision, we relocated to a new city after a promise of COS for my husband.
"It felt like things were finally aligning. Eventually I secured a paid placement as part of my course in an international organization. We welcomed baby number two. Life got even busier with a newborn and a toddler. Some days kept overwhelming but we kept moving forward one step at a time. Motherhood, school, work, immigration worries, everything was happening at once. Four months before our visa was due to expire, the sponsorship promise fell through. And just like that we had to start again. This was one of the hardest periods for us. Emotionally, mentally and financially. We were tired in ways sleep couldn't fix.

"Somehow we pushed through. I graduated with distinction. Even now I still don't know how we did it. We switched to PSW. It wasn't plan A but we had to keep going. Not long after I got a job I genuinely loved. For the first time, work didn't feel like punishment or something I was just doing to survive. After over 500 applications between us and lots of interviews, my husband finally secured a job with COS in his field. Two months later I also got sponsorship on the new entrant route. We chose the option that worked best for our family and gave us more stability. Then we bought our first home. Something that felt so far away suddenly became real. This is us. Four years later, still growing, still glowing. Not because life is perfect now but because the stability we prayed for finally came."
