The We Are Not Thugs (Rector Pascal Foundation) has successfully concluded its Healthy Shitta Medical Outreach, providing free healthcare services, food items and other support to residents of Shitta, Surulere, Lagos State.
The one-day community outreach, held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, brought together medical professionals, volunteers, community leaders and residents in a bid to improve access to healthcare and promote wellness.

The programme, which started at 11am, featured free medical consultations, vital signs screening, therapy and counselling sessions, medication support, deworming, sanitary pad distribution, as well as health education on preventive care, substance use disorder and early intervention.
Medical professionals, including Dr Olusina Ajidahun (Bearded Dr Sina) and Dr Chinosso Egemba (Aproko Doctor), joined other healthcare workers and volunteers to attend to beneficiaries during the outreach.
Residents who participated in the programme expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing the availability of free medical services within the community as a valuable intervention.
One volunteer nurse said: “It’s amazing serving the community alongside incredible people… #healthyshitta.”
Speaking on the motivation behind the outreach, founder of We Are Not Thugs, Rector Pascal, said improving community health was essential to helping people achieve their potential.
“A sick community cannot produce anything, a weak person cannot provide for themselves or family, but a healthy person? A healthy person can do a lot of things and has a chance at life to live in the purpose of their existence,” he said.
Organisers said the initiative was designed to address immediate health needs while encouraging long-term healthy living among residents.
The Healthy Shitta Medical Outreach adds to the foundation’s previous community interventions, including substance use disorder treatment programmes in areas such as Akala, Mushin.
The organisation thanked volunteers, medical personnel, partners and members of the Shitta community for supporting the success of the outreach.
