Hausa leaders endorse Paul Chukwuma candidacy
In an exclusive interview with Legit.ng correspondent on Sunday, September 21, during a special campaign rally held in Awkuzu, Oyi local government area of the state, spokesperson of the Hausa community in Oyi local government area of the state, Alhaji Dauda Umoru, cited Sir Paul Chukwuma's humane disposition and his greater chances to deliver quality democracy dividends as their reasons for pledging their support.
He said:
"We know the YPP candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, through one of his brothers, who is our very good friend. He has been very friendly to the Hausa community. He has very kind heart, and also generous. We believe that Paul Chukwuma will be of the same character and disposition as his brother.
"Besides, we've heard and seen much about Sir Paul Chukwuma through his numerous activities, advocacies and programs. From what we've seen and heard, we need no fortune-teller to notify us the stuff he is made of.
"The incumbent governor, Charles Soludo, has done his best; but his best is not enough to deliver the Dubai/Taiwan state he promised. In YPP's Paul Chukwuma, we see the disposition to serve, the tendency to offer quality dividends of democracy, and the blueprint to achieve the Dubai/Taiwan model state."
Earlier in his speech during the rally, Alhaji Umoru promised that he and other leaders of Hausa community in Oyi would kickstart door-to-door sensitisation of their people in the area to ensure that they realise their set objective, which was to support Paul Chukwuma wholeheartedly.
Umoru, who expressed confidence that YPP's Chukwuma would win the governorship election come November 8, pleaded with him to carry non-indigenes, especially the Hausa community, along in his government. He also asked the YPP candidate to ensure that he tackles security problems in the area so their businesses, as non natives, would thrive.

Candidate of YPP, Sir Paul Chukwuma, thanked the Hausa community for their solidarity and their assurance to support him.
"I thanked you greatly for promising to support me and my party, the Young Progressive Party. Thank you for rallying around me, and thank you for assuring me of your support. Also, be very much assured that upon assumption of office, I will tackle insecurity head-on. My administration will declare zero tolerance for insecurity, because, security is the primary responsibility of any responsible government.
"It is when security is in place that businesses will thrive, so, my government will place top priority on security of lives and property, and non indegens will be integral part of our government," he said.
Chukwuma further told them that in no distant time, his team would come back to educate members of the Hausa community on how to vote on the election day, so that the candidate of their choice would emerge.
In an exclusive chat with Legit.ng correspondent, Chukwuma described his engagement with the leadership of the Hausa community in Oyi as a fulfilling moment, noting that they pledged to deliver 100 percent of their votes in his favour.
He expressed deep gratitude to the Hausa community for their commitment.
“I thank the Hausa community immensely for this show of support and their promise to vote for me. I will not take their support for granted. They requested for two major things: one, tackling of insecurity and creating enabling environment for their businesses; two, carrying them along in our administration. We shall do all these. Our government shall tackle insecurity, and again, we shall carry everyone along in our administration. Nobody or group will be left behind," he assured.
