Davido's Family Paying Osun Workers' Salaries as FG Withholds Funds, Reveals Bode George

Elder statesman and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has alleged that music star Davido, alongside his father and Governor Ademola Adeleke, have been responsible for paying the salaries of Osun State local government workers for months.

George made the claim during an interview on Nigeria Info FM, Lagos, where he said the federal government had failed to remit allowances to the state for about six months.

Adeleke family shouldering state responsibilities

He suggested that the Adeleke family had taken up the burden, possibly through loans, to ensure workers were not left unpaid.

“The federal government has not paid Osun State local government allowance for about six months. It is Adeleke and his family that have been paying, probably on loan. Davido and his father are also carrying the load,” George said.

The PDP stalwart also spoke about Governor Adeleke’s political future as he revealed that the Osun leader once considered defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

George said he advised Adeleke against the move, warning that joining the APC could jeopardize his chances within the party’s internal politics.

“He called me and told me he was thinking of leaving for the APC. I told him to think carefully because he could be submerged by their people and lose out in the primary,” George recounted.

He added that Adeleke eventually reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, citing an instance at a National Executive Committee meeting where he saw the governor dancing and later assured him he would remain with the party.

Bode George, a retired naval officer, was once the Military Governor of Ondo State and later served as Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority. He remains a strong voice within the PDP and has been known for his frank opinions on national issues.

Adeleke Is Begging to Join APC - Omisore

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a former deputy governor of Osun state, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has alleged that Governor Ademola Adeleke is struggling, hence his efforts to move to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

In a trending interview on Wednesday, Omisore described Governor Adeleke as a political orphan.

Omisore also accused Adeleke of begging top APC stalwarts, including a southern governor, to allow him to join the party.
